太平鸟 Bohemian Waxwing

描述：体型略大(18厘米)的粉褐色太平鸟。与小太平鸟易区别，不同处在于尾尖端为黄色而非绯红。尾下覆羽栗色，初级飞羽羽端外侧黄色而成翼上的黄色带，三级飞羽羽端及外侧覆羽羽端白色而成白色横纹。成鸟次级飞羽的羽端具蜡样红色点斑。
虹膜－褐色；嘴－褐色；脚－褐色。
叫声：群鸟叫声为颇有特色的清亮的成串buzzing sirr声，鸣声简单似叫声。
分布范围：欧亚大陆北部及北美洲西北部，越冬南迁。
分布状况：不常见。越冬于中国东北及中北部，偶至长江流域、新疆极西部的喀什地区。迷鸟至台湾、福建及四川。
习性：群栖性。多喜食蔷薇果，Cotoneaster, Sorbus及其他浆果类。春夏季以昆虫为食。有时暴食到几乎不能飞行。
俗名：连雀 十二黄

小太平鸟 Japanese Waxwing

描述：体型略小(16厘米)的太平鸟。尾端绯红色显著。与太平鸟的区别在黑色的过眼纹绕过冠羽延伸至头后，臀绯红。次级飞羽端部无蜡样附着，但羽尖绯红。缺少黄色翼带。
虹膜－褐色；嘴－近黑；脚－褐色。
叫声：群鸟发出高音的咬舌音。
分布范围：西伯利亚东部及中国东北部，越冬至日本及琉球群岛。
分布状况：不定期繁殖鸟见于黑龙江的小兴安岭。越冬鸟群有时至湖北及山东。极少数在福建、台湾及华中有记录。
习性：结群在果树及灌丛间活动。
