原文介绍：A relative of the Java Sparrow, this bird is not common in dealers but can be found, I have kept many in the past, but only have this pair now. They will breed although I have had no success with them beyond the occassional clutch of eggs.
Sexes similar.
本人拙译：禾雀的近亲。在鸟贩处不常见，但也能看到。能够繁殖，但在我这儿，除了偶尔的一窝蛋，没有更多的成功。雌雄相似。

原文介绍：Very rarely seen in dealers but they do show up from time to time,and when they do it takes a lot of pocket money to buy them.
As can be seen they have a massive beak and make good use of it when you catch them up for any reason. Beak size appears to give some indication of sex but this is only really noticeable when you have a true pair together.Hard to find but a joy to keep.

原文介绍：Don't know much about this species, have seen some examples but never kept any myself.They are larger than most, no apparent difference in the sexes....I believe they have occasionally bred in captivity, but they are not easy to come by here in the UK, possibly they are easier to obtain on the Continent as I have seen them in dealers in Belgium.But this is another "little brown bird" and as such is not much sought after by any but the dedicated Lonchura enthusiast.........But you might come across some and here is a picture in case you do.

原文介绍：I have kept a few of these, but they are difficult, they appear delicate to me and I lost a few so gave them up......They have been bred, and can be found in dealers.They are a colourful and pleasant bird, but as mentioned don't appear long lived in captivity.Sexes similar.

原文介绍：One of the most commonly kept lonchura, these don't take much identifiying. the amount of white on the head increases with maturity, and varies in different sub-species..Sexes are similar but can be distinguished in a true pair kept together by the amount of white on the head.....These birds will pair bond as juveniles and keeping several juveniles together is the best way to obtain a true pair that are likely to breed.
本人拙译：最常见的种类之一，易于区分。头部的白色程度会随着不断地成熟而增长，也取决于不同的亚种。雌雄同色，但在确定是一对的情况下，也能根据头部的白色程度区分性别。这种鸟会在幼鸟时期结合成对，因此将数只幼鸟饲养在一起有利于获得真正的一对以便于繁殖。

原文介绍：Popular and readily obtainable, the normal form has the white chest, as bird on left, there is a cinnammon chested form, bird on right, that although not common is seen from time to time, another form I have seen has a Cinnammon scaling on the chest, although I have only seen this in one example.Sexes are similar.Everybody with any interest in lonchura and many people with just a general interest have either got or kept this species, they are easy to keep and willing to attempt breeding.

原文介绍：You can often find examples of this species in dealers, although again there is no great demand for it, but it's a nice bird to keep and it is regularly breed. The Fawn example I know nothing about but assume it is a wild caught bird, although it could be the result of hybridisation........
